WEEKLY UPDATES: September 28, 2021: Weekly Updates

Blythe Klipple

World Card Making Day is this Saturday! Are you ready? Some of us are holding events a little early because we can’t wait to get started. And don’t forget—if customers fall in love with cardmaking, think about inviting them to join your team. Click here to learn more.

Special note: The Demonstrator Planning Place will be dedicated to World Card Making Day (WCMD) on 2–3 October. This means that we will spend those days celebrating WCMD together, and the usual opportunity for sharing and posting will be reserved for WCMD-themed posts ONLY.

So join us in the Demonstrator Planning Place on 2–3 October, share pictures of your gathering(s), and take a minute to participate in our event poll. We’d also love to know if you had someone new to cardmaking join your celebration. Our goal worldwide is to hold 5,000 gatherings on WCMD.

We encourage you to use our hashtag #WCMD2021 on all your public social media posts and share photos of all our fun gatherings around the world. We want to hit the goal of 2,600+ public-facing posts that feature #WCMD2021, so remember to share your fab pics!

The joy of papercrafting is something we believe should be shared with everyone—and it’s the reason we started our #SimpleStamping campaign. By creating and sharing easy-to-make, inexpensive projects, our hope is to show beginner crafters how fun and easy papercrafting can be.

We’ve loved what you’ve been sharing, and we can’t wait to see more! We’re still sending surprises each month to a select number of participating demonstrators to thank them for posting their #SimpleStamping projects; have you shared yours yet? (Remember: We want as many people as possible to see your creation, so please share your card outside of the Demonstrator Planning Place to get as much exposure as possible.)

Here are the creative parameters for the next #SimpleStamping challenge:

October’s #SimpleStamping Challenge

Theme: Christmas/New Year
Supplies: Stamps, ink, paper, and an embellishment
Remember to keep your project simple, share it using #SimpleStamping, and most of all—have fun!

We all know that protecting credit card information is vitally important. As a demonstrator, you play an essential role in keeping that information safe and secure for each of your customers. While handling others’ credit cards, please remember the following:

Do not store customer credit cards without permission.
Redact the credit card information on order forms you do store.
Destroy the credit card information appropriately after use.
Please store that information in a secure place where others cannot access it.
Do not leave completed order forms in a place that is accessible to other customers during an event or workshop.
We know you value your customers, and you can show them how valuable they are to you by treating their personal information in a respectful way. For more information about this topic please view the video posted on the new compliance page here or see “Accepting Credit Cards from Customers” in the Demonstrator Policy Document.

We are excited to announce a new page dedicated to Compliance! This page contains resources, videos, and documents that will help you understand, promote, and follow policies and regulatory guidelines.

We hope these resources will help you in your Stampin’ Up! business. Click here to view the page for yourself.
