WEEKLY UPDATES: August 3, 2021: Weekly Updates

Blythe Klipple

Save the date! World Card Making Day (WCMD) is 2 October 2021, and we think you’ll agree: There could not be a better day to introduce your friends to the Stampin’ Up! community.

Globally, we’d like to extend an invitation to demonstrators EVERYWHERE to use this day to touch the lives of friends, families, and co-workers through cardmaking. We hope to have over 5,000 gatherings on or around 2 October—with special emphasis on inviting new people to get in on the fun!

Remember, World Card Making Day also gives you a great reason to contact your current customers, remind them about the celebration, and encourage them to purchase the supplies they need to make and send cards to their loved ones.

So don’t wait! Set aside a date and time to hold a gathering to share cardmaking with one or more new friends. And stay tuned to Weekly Updates for WCMD news! We will be providing you with some useful resources to help you make your WCMD gathering the best it can be.

Can you hardly wait to Sale-A-Brate? Sale-A-Bration is packed with perks for demonstrators, overflowing with opportunities for customers, and filled with fun for everyone. If you’re interested in building your business and multiplying your team members, now’s the time to try! Joining Stampin’ Up! during Sale-A-Bration includes bonus benefits your crafting community won’t want to miss.

Ready to rally up the troops? Here’s some important information to pass along to your prospective papercrafting crew:

If a stamper wants to join Stampin’ Up! as an independent demonstrator, they’ll be able to add a bundle from the July–December 2021 Mini Catalog to their Starter Kit for free!
There are twelve bundles from the July–December 2021 Mini Catalog your team member-to-be can choose from. Once they initiate the Independent Demonstrator Agreement, their options will appear after they’ve added items to their Starter Kit and proceeded to checkout. To see the list of options, take a look at the last page of the Sale-A-Bration Brochure!
Your new stamper can only add a bundle in the language of the Stampin’ Up! website they’re using to shop for their Starter Kit. For example, say your new stamper lives in Quebec, Canada. If they’re using the French Canadian website and the bundle they want is listed in French—but they want the bundle in English—they will only have the option to add the bundle in French. However, if they’d like, they can add the bundle (in addition to any other bundle) in English to their Starter Kit using their Starter Kit allowance.
Refer to the Sale-A-Bration Brochure when introducing the offer to your future Stampin’ Up! family. Simply stated, if the bundle is not listed in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure, it is not available as part of the offer. Explaining this early will prevent potential problems when Sale-A-Bration starts!

The joy of paper-crafting is something we believe should be shared with everyone—and it’s the reason we started our #SimpleStamping campaign. By creating and sharing easy-to-make, inexpensive projects, our hope is to show beginner crafters how fun and easy paper-crafting can be.

We’ve loved what you’ve been sharing, and we can’t wait to see more! We’re still sending surprises each month to a select number of participating demonstrators to thank them for posting their #SimpleStamping projects; have you shared yours yet? (Remember: We want as many people as possible to see your creation, so please share your card outside of the Demonstrator Planning Place to get as much exposure as possible.)

Here are the creative parameters for the next #SimpleStamping challenge:

August’s #SimpleStamping Challenge

Theme: Any
Supplies: Stamps, ink, paper, and featuring a Sale-A-Bration item
Remember to keep your project simple, share it using #SimpleStamping, and most of all—have fun!

Attention Silver Elite and above! With Sale-A-Bration starting 3 August, why not “Better Your Best” with a Recruit-A-Thon! Join the Facebook Live in the Facebook Leader’s Group on 4 August at noon MT to get all the details about how you can make the most out of Sale-A-Bration and the Recruit-A-Thon!

Can’t make it to the Facebook Live? Don’t worry, it’ll be recorded and posted for those who cannot attend. We hope to see you there!

New Bundle Focus selling tools are now available! If you don’t know about the Bundle Focus program, take a few minutes to learn how it could help you in your business. Don’t wait, start planning with the new items or choose from previously posted bundles.

Due to port and shipping delays, we will not be able to provide new Bundle Focus resources for the month of September. To accommodate the inconvenience, we will instead provide two options of Bundle Focus resources for the month of October!

In the meantime, four options of Bundle Focus resources are still active and available for your use: Butterfly Brilliance, Evergreen Elegance (just released today!), Quiet Meadow, and Sweet Strawberry. If you haven’t already taken advantage of these comprehensive marketing resources, what are you waiting for? The Bundle Focus program is selling made simple.

Thirteen states will be offering a sales tax holiday for school supplies during the months of July or August. Products that are eligible according to the statute include “items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes.” To see the names of participating states, products exempted from tax, and sales tax holiday dates, click here.

Please note that you must place your order with Stampin’ Up! during the tax holiday period in order to receive these items tax-free (which is midnight on the first day to midnight on the last day of the tax holiday). Also, keep in mind that this is a state sales tax holiday; the state statute may not apply to county, city, and special jurisdiction taxes.

If you have customers who live in states who benefit from the sales tax holiday (yay!), be sure to give them a call and let them know.

Note: Georgia, Louisiana, and Wisconsin have suspended the sales tax holiday for this year.
