SU!: Kids class ideas needed

wenkerc

The lady that cuts my hair asked if I could do a kids class for her
grandkids.  I know that two are 8 and 10 but not sure about the others.  Do
any of you have ideas that I can use?  I've never done a kids class before .
help!

SU!: RE: Kids class ideas needed

Brenda Crawshaw

What about a mini scrapbook, like an accordion folded project?  I do this
with kids sometimes to use as a mini "yearbook" of sorts where people can
put one of those wallet photos on "their" page and write something nice to
the kid.  Or you could make a little "My Favorites" book with them where
they can talk about their favorite TV show, candy bar, movie, color, etc.

Kids like to make things to give to their friends, too, so maybe some of
those giant paperclips with punchart critters on the ends?  Or fold over
magnetic bookmarks with a cute thing sticking out?

Kids are NOT my favorite group so that's sort of all I have...

I love doing mini albums with kids too and have done them with several different scouting groups.
My two most popular have been a 'friends' album with a page for each friend and their contact and birthday info esp nice right before summer break so you can encourage kids to write postcards to their friends when school is out. The other fave has been an 'all about me' book, where there is a page for 'me', one for each parent, sibling, grandparent, friends, pets etc.   Depending on the album and family size we have even added in uncles and godparents (there are lots of only kids in our family so my kids don't have cousins or aunts).
Bookmarks are always popular too and get used for something important afterwards.

Cheryl,  They could make their own Christmas cards.  If you have the Color Me Christmas stamp set from the Holiday catalog, that would work.  You could provide a box of crayons, let them stamp each image on white cardstock or order our notecards w/envelopes and then let them color the images.
