Let's Try Stripping

Sue Erickson
No not physically, sillies! Designing with paper strips. Your design challenge this week is to design and pin a card using the floating strips technique. It is a really simple way to use up scraps of cardstock or dsp. Cut strips of paper and adhere them to a piece of window sheet leaving a small space between them. Then trim your window sheet to the desired size or shape. Finally adhere it to your card front with dimensionals or adhesive foam strips that are hidden behind the strips of paper. The strips magically float above the card base. So cool! Use a narrow rectangular die to cut your strips or cut them by hand with your paper trimmer.

Check out these beautiful Christmas cards. Caroline Manwaring used the layering circle dies and the narrow stitched rectangle die from the All Dressed Up dies to make her ornament. Cindy Brumbaugh used the stitched Triangle dies to cut out her Christmas trees.

Now let’s see what you create. Pin it to one of your pin boards and tag it with SDC686. I’m looking forward to seeing it!

Happy ‘stripping’ and pinning,
