video camera set-up-please help

Diane Harman

PLEASE, I am begging for help.
How do you set up a video camera to record what you are making?  I think I want the viewer to be watching as though they were making it right? or not? I don't know how to do that.  Here is a picture of where I sit when I am stamping.

I can fit a tripod behind me,barely, but it doesn't really help, because the camera attaches directly to the tripod.  I have a small tripod that can sit on my desk, but it would have to be to one side, or in the front, and then it would be from the wrong angle, and too close.
Also, what kind of lighting should I get.  Above me is an unfinished ceiling with canned spiral like flourecent lights. I have the Ott light that is like a tool holder too right next to me.

I have a iphone 5s and a Samsung smx c10 which is a small recorder.

Your video editing program should allow you to turn your image when you are editing it so you can film upside down and then edit it right side up. Hope this helps.

I put my tripod on the table and film upside down and then turn it in editing.

Re: RE: Re: OOPS-video camera set-up-please help

Hi Annie,
No, those are those way-to-expensive ribbon holders that were the "in" thing for ribbons about 5 years ago.  Our grosgrain at the time was sold on spools that were too wide for the rain gutter that I had bought.  But I had gotten 2 gift cards to Archivers, and bout them.  Google gutter ribbon holders, and there are tons of great ideas.

Your video editing program should allow you to turn your image when you are editing it so you can film upside down and then edit it right side up. Hope this helps.

I put my tripod on the table and film upside down and then turn it in editing.

Your video editing program should allow you to turn your image when you are editing it so you can film upside down and then edit it right side up. Hope this helps.

I put my tripod on the table and film upside down and then turn it in editing.

I set up a long tripod right above my workspace so that the viewer is looking down. Then zoom in.  It takes a little getting used to but once you do, it works!
You can see the view in the FREE Video Section at StampAcademy.com or in any of the videos on my StampsAndScrapbooks.com blog.
Hope that helps!

oh wow!!!! it works, I can't believe it!  It took me a bit to figure it out, but I played with a video of my dog and she's upside down, and not barking.  So now I can  record without worrying about totally messing up what I'm saying, and then recording over it!  I'm so giddy right now!
Thanks so much for your help!!!!

Hi Annie,
No, those are those way-to-expensive ribbon holders that were the "in"
thing for ribbons about 5 years ago.  Our grosgrain at the time was sold
on spools that were too wide for the rain gutter that I had bought.  But
I had gotten 2 gift cards to Archivers, and bout them.  Google gutter
ribbon holders, and there are tons of great ideas.

I really love your set-up. Did you by chance use rain gutters to
put
