reserved order

joyce pacer
I am totally disgusted with the way Stampin'Up did this.  I went in to order at 4:10 and got a message that reservations were closed.  I had one customer that got in and several that got kicked out and when they tried again, it was closed.

Several customers were there on time and got kicked out and reservations closed as they were trying to get their information completed.

I have to say, in 17, almost 18 years as a SU demonstrator, I am totally disappointed and disgusted on the way this was handled.

I was out of town and totally missed ordering 40 minutes after the time slot.  Already sold out?  I'm glad I didn't send this out to my working customers who would have all missed out and been really disappointed.  Maybe by the time the new catalog comes out they will have enough to fill orders.  I hope so because it's really hard to tell customers that they are already sold out before the item becomes available!

Thank you for speaking up!   I am in the same boat.   Stupid, stupid,
stupid.   Now we wait as a demonstrator to get this thing in maybe March or
April.  How stupid is that?

Thank you, Cindy Hills

I, too, am EXTREMELY disappointed!  I tried to order at 4:20 p.m. my time and got the reservations closed message.  They SHOULD have limited demos to 1 Stamparatus AND allowed priority for our orders.  How can we demo and sell something we can't even order?  On the brighter side, I saved $147.00 that I can now use for Occasions mini items!  This is the ONLY time I have EVER complained about Stampin' Up! and I am now finished with my rant.

And    Why aren't the demonstrators getting this first BEFORE the customers
can order?   How can demonstrate something that I can't even get?     I am
writing ds after sending this.

Thanks Cindy Hills

After spending several days telling my customers how wonderful
this new product will be and why we all need one I am at a complete loss as
to what to tell my customers at class tonight about the 10 minute window of
opportunity.  Anyone have any suggestions?

The second window opens Dec. 5. I also have classes tonight - so here is what I will be saying:

“We’re excited that there seems to be so much interest in the Stamparatus and the first chance to reserve it has closed. But another chance to get in line is Dec. 5 — it’s a chance to get it before it goes on sale in the June 2018 catalog. We know that they may not be able to accommodate everyone before June — but this does help give SU an idea of how many to have ready down the road. And as someone who was part of the L2L team — and who’s used other brands of this type of positioned — I am sure it will be worth waiting for."

I would tell your customers that it is SO FREAKING AWESOME that the preorder
sold out in 10 minutes!

The best we can hope for is that SU! got the clue and will see if they can
ramp up production faster so they can add more pre-order sessions.

You can't be serious!! I don't think they'll go for that one.

I agree.  Demonstrators were promoting this to the max - that's all you see
on blogs since the end of On Stage.   Thankful I didn't promote this heavily
to my customers and that I warned them what I thought would happen so I
wouldn't have to defend SU later.  I was 99.9%  sure it would go like this.
Just looking at how this was setup and SU's track record, it was a recipe
for this happening.   I need to write to SU, a number of people asked why
they do this during the daytime when many people work and most people don't
take advantage of their employers by shopping on their dime.

I understand that in their(SU) eyes this sounded like an amazing plan and it
was a sincere effort to avoid issues like they have had in the past, so I do
applaud them for trying something different.

SU has excellent products but they sure do have trouble with the
ordering/forecasting/quality control side of things.  They've been at this a
long time so not sure why that is.

At least we know we will have a hot product to sell.

Agree 100% - "They SHOULD have limited demos to 1 Stamparatus AND allowed
priority for our orders."   I expect we will see them on eBay for an
inflated price,  when many of us will still be waiting for ours.

Coleen,

For those of us who could not place our order this time, what's the
possibility that the next window of opportunity on December 5 will be open
long enough for us to have an even playing field to buy one - the fact that
this first preorder was sold out in 10 MINUTES.  This is not very
encouraging for those of us who did not make this first preorder.  Do you
think the SUP folks will offer more for the 2nd preorder?  We can live in
hope.

Lets hope this was a  test to see if there was a better way of pre
ordering, that failed.   Stampin up is a pretty reliable company, Im sure
they will work out all the bugs,  lets remember  that a tool this
impressive will be in high demand,  criticizing stampin up  will only cost
you customers

I absolutely agree with you, Phyllis. I was astounded that so many demos
promoted this the way they did. I figure I see only a fraction of what's out
there on Facebook and I was sure this selling out in a short time would
happen. I did not so much as mention it in my latest newsletter, though I
will give out the preorder information for the next two "windows" ("slits")
just in case they'd like to try.

I will, however, start using my MISTIs (I have 4 of them, 2 small and 2
large) in my classes beginning next week now that I can tell my customers
that Stampin' Up! has one that's even better coming in the next annual
catalog. I've never used a MISTI in a class except for one customer with an
essential tremor who could not possibly stamp on her own. Now I will happily
use them for everyone. Ours is SO much better AND it's less expensive. So I
do not think my customers will be going out and ordering MISTIs.  As with my
newsletter folks, of course, I'll mention the preorder dates, but warn them
that it might be hard to get into the website on time.

And whoever said they'll be on eBay come February 1st is probably right on
target!

Everyone needs to relax and stop
Being so critical of this New process.  I am sure Stampin Up will like to hear our feedback. But That kind of negativity will hurt your business. I hope you are just venting here. I was one of the lucky ones that was able to reserve three!  Each one is reserved for my customers that do not shop online or that don’t have credit cards.

Thank you,
Catherine
