New this Week

Game of Chance Drawings

Demonstrators often look for exciting ways to encourage customers to make purchases. One of those ideas involves a drawing of some sort. This activity can be problematic as it may be considered a game of chance, and games of chance have varying legal ramifications depending on the country, state, and province.

Because rules and regulations vary so significantly from place to place, Stampin’ Up! cannot be responsible to inform each demonstrator of their applicable laws about this matter. In order to protect yourself and your business from situations that could have significant consequences, please be aware of—and comply with—your local restrictions. Search your local government websites to learn more about your area’s laws. Of course, eliminating “chance” as an element to your offering can significantly reduce any perceived issues with your offering.

As you consider ways you may incent purchasing behavior, we remind you to act ethically and in accordance with all applicable laws.
