Reminder - SDC598 - Single Flower Focal Point

Sue Erickson
In reply to this post by Robbie Rubala

Hey, there still is time to participate in this DesignChallenge! Here are the challenge:

Are you ready for spring to arrive yet? Even though Spring is  a couple months away, we can dream of beautiful flowers. Your challenge this week is to design, create, and pin a project featuring a single beautiful flower as the focal point. Be sure to tag it with SDC598 so I can find your creation. Remember you have a chance to win a free week of SUDSOL by participating.

Check out this stunning card by Tracy Elsom.

Happy designing and pinning,

Sue Erickson, SUDSOL Design Challenge Coordinator

Reminder - Sad to See You Go!

Sue Erickson
In reply to this post by Robbie Rubala

Hey stampers! There is still time to share cards or 3-D projects, even scrapbook pages you have designed using the retiring 2018-2020 In Colors. Just pin your project to one of your pin boards and tag it with SDC612. We had two winners for last week’s challenge. You could be the winner this week of a free week of SUDSOL but only if you participate in this challenge.

I love this card by Susie Woods using a stamp from the Lilypad Lake stamp set and the Small Flower Punch.

Happy designing and pinning,

Reminder - For the Fathers

Sue Erickson
In reply to this post by Robbie Rubala

Happy Saturday everyone,
It isn’t too late to enter this week’s design challenge. You have through tomorrow night. I’m sure most of us are making some sort of Father’s Day card to give a Father or father figure tomorrow. Now is the time to pin that card to one one your pin boards and tag it with SDC617. By doing so, you are eligible to win a free week of SUDSOL!

Check out this card by Karen Hallam.

Happy 4th of July!

Sue Erickson
In reply to this post by Robbie Rubala

Here is my submission for this week’s design challenge and a card for all of you. I used the Dandelion Wishes and retired…long retired…More Great Greetings. I also used retired red glimmer paper and retired Iridescent Ice embossing powder although it doesn’t show up much. Hint: if you want regular color to have the iridescence of the embossing powder, stamp FIRST in Versamark and then color your stamp! Yep…got ink on my Versamark pad. I have tried washing it out and then will reink the pad. But…Versamark doesn’t wash very well. The ink did come out. We’ll see about how the pad is once the water in it dries.

Happy Fourth,

Sue Erickson

Doin' the Twist

Sue Erickson
In reply to this post by Robbie Rubala

How many of you read the SUDSOL Weekly? If you did this Monday, you would have seen that this week’s design challenge is this:

Your design challenge this week is to design a card and pin it to one of your pin boards using the Tri-fold Twist fancy fold demonstrated by Michelle Suit in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEvelSslS2Q&feature=share,  Alternately find a card using this fancy fold on the internet and pin that. This fold is different than the Twisted Gatefold Fancy Fold. Chris Slogar has also featured this fancy fold on her blog and created this card. She gives cutting measurements and a video tutorial here https://buckeyeinklings.com/2019/07/20/tri-fold-twist-take-2/.

Now it is your turn to give this Tri-fold Twist fancy fold a try. I look forward to seeing how your design turns out. Pin it to one of your pin boards with the tag SDC620.

 Cheers,

Sue Erickson, SUDSOL Design Challenge Coordinator

Whoohoo! Two More Winners, Andrea Sharp and Robin Messheimer!

Sue Erickson
In reply to this post by Robbie Rubala

What a lucky day! I get to give away two more free weeks of SUDSOL. They go to Andrea Sharp and Robin Messheimer. to see the cards they entered, click on the magnifying glass in the upper right corner of the SUDSOL home page once you log in. (It is next to my photo in the screen shot I have attached.) That opens a field where you type in SDC619 and hit enter. That opens another screen (see second photo). Click on the tab that says pins. It has a 7 underneath it. Then you can see all the photos that were pinned using the SDC619 tag.

Congratulations ladies!

After I made my first card with this fold, I couldn’t stop as I thought it was such a “Fun” fold – open the card and close it again; open the card and close it again. Definitely fun. Here are the three that I finished yesterday, and now I’ll take a break.

Reminder - Doin' the Twist

In reply to this post by Robbie Rubala

Although it is Saturday, there is still time to participate in this week’s design challenge. Join me and Robin Messheimer in making this fun fold card! Here is the challenge:

Your design challenge this week is to design a card and pin it to one of your pin boards using the Tri-fold Twist fancy fold demonstrated by Michelle Suit in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEvelSslS2Q&feature=share,  Alternately find a card using this fancy fold on the internet and pin that. This fold is different than the Twisted Gatefold Fancy Fold.

Chris Slogar has also featured this fancy fold on her blog https://buckeyeinklings.com/2019/07/20/tri-fold-twist-take-2/.

I used the Zany Zebras stamp set and paper from Forever Greenery dsp for my version of the card.

Now it is your turn to give this Tri-fold Twist fancy fold a try. I look forward to seeing how your design turns out. Pin it to one of your pin boards with the tag SDC620.

Cheers,

Sue Erickson, SUDSOL Design Challenge Coordinator
