SU!: vendor fair/catalog question

Claudia Perry

Hi guys,

I was wondering when you are going to a vendor fair, how do you deal with
catalogs

1) Give out Seasonal Catty for free

2) Charge like $5 for the main Catty, with a coupon of $5 discount on first
order of x-amount (maybe $20?)

3) Give out main Catty for free if they are interested in events

4) Give out both cattys for free

What is the norm?

I give out both for free, but most people only want the seasonal catalog. I usually only give away 1 or 2 main catalogs.

I follow John's advice of getting contact info and giving for FREE on the condition of agreeing to follow up contact from me.  I have had some people give me fake info and/or not respond to my attempts to contact them, but -overall -it has still been worth the investment of the catalog.

I don’t offer the catty right away. I have one on display with some minis. When I talk to someone for a while and they seem interested then I pull out a catty and give them one.
