Question about back orders

Cindy Hills

Can someone tell me why there are so many back orders or availability
not yet determined?  I had customers order punches from the Occasions
mini catalog.  All of them are availability not yet determined!   What
do I tell disappointed customers?  I don't mind a back order here or
there but this has gone on all year and is really bad right now.

It's hard right now to do projects with punches or something else on
that list since I don't know when these products are coming.

Re: SU!: Question about back orders

Sandy Hill

What I think is bad is the customers have paid for their product and that's not right especially if they have to wait two or three months for the items.

RE: Re: Question about back orders

Phyllis Strickland

When I order items from various websites and it is on backorder, I always get an email giving me the option to cancel and get a refund.

I imagine SU doesn't do that because it would affect the workshop totals and benefits, but not sure.  But when it goes on more than 30 days and they are holding people's money, not sure how they get away with it.

There is the option to request a refund after a certain number of days.  Without checking the manual, I won't make a guess.  It may have even been in the recent update about changes to the order cancellation policy.

At the bottom of the backorder report it says…

Please note: When items are on backorder, we will ship each item as it becomes available. At times this may result in one order being shipped in multiple boxes-possibly arriving at different times. If a product is not shipped within 21 days from the date the order is received by Stampin' Up!, you may call Demonstrator Support and cancel the order for a full refund or exchange it for another item. Once an item on backorder arrives in our warehouse, we will ship it using the same shipping method you selected when you placed the original order.

My experience with that is that it will NOT affect the party total - hostess still gets her hostess benefits, etc.  But it will reduce your sales for the month that the refund is actually processed in.  So make sure you take that into account when calculating your sales for the month in which the refund is processed.

My two pairs of fringe scissors came in the mail today.  My customers will be super happy about this.  They weren't supposed to ship until 4/16.  And they were ordered six weeks ago.

I received two pair but they were from a more recent order, and I have so many on back order from before that.  I could not understand that.

My punches which arrived today were from a March 13 stamp camp, but the ones ordered from the 3/27 stamp camp  are still backorderd.
