Sales Tax Holidays 2014

July 28, 2014

The states typically define school supplies as "any items normally used by students in a standard classroom for educational purposes."  We are therefore limiting our exemptions per the state statute based on items description and price the following chart shows the basic of the tax holiday per state. Please pay particular attention to the dates all orders have to be entered in the system within each date range no exceptions per state statute.

Blythe,  The $100 maximum isn't the total spent, it's the total allowed per item, right?  In other words I can have an order for $200, tax free, but if we had a single item that costs $110, only $100 of that item would be would be tax free?  I hope my question makes sense.

Actually, it doesn’t work quite that way.  The $100 max is per item.  So you can’t get a big set of markers because it is $109.95, but you can get the individual markers and/or the sets.
