My Bingo Classes

Kay Capps

Hi- Several of you have asked more about how I run my Bingo Events.
Sorry this is long but I wanted to try to remember everything I do-
Here is what I do although there are several versions from different
demonstrators-
I have 3 bingo events a year with every new catalog coming out.
First is SAB and the Occasions Catalog- June for the Annual catalog and
Sept for the Holiday catalog.
Guests DO NEED to prepay for their spot in this event. The main reason
being you DO NEED to purchase the prizes ahead of the event.
10 guests x $15 is a workshop order which includes Hostess Benenfits!
Price is $25 for the event. This includes $15 to use for the prizes,
$5.00 coupon they can use for any size order that day and a Goodie bag-
The Goodie bag consists of new retired products- roll of ribbon, washi
tape, 4 x 6 sheets of DSP etc.
I also have 2 make and takes using new supplies from the catalog we are
featuring in the event.
I put the prizes on a table so they can see what they get to win-
I also put a few retired but new items-on the table they can choose if
they wish- packages of DSP, rolls of ribbon, etc.
I didn't want to mess with the little balls for the bingo numbers so I
purchased Bingo playing cards.
I also purchased the "slider" type of bingo playing cards as well as the
"Master" card. You can use the paper bingo game pcs if you wish.
With the $25 entry fee-guests get to pick out a "lucky" bingo playing
pc. They can also purchase additional cards for $5.00 each-
Between games I ask if they would like to exchange their cards for a
"luckier" one OR purchase additional cards.
Money collected for extra cards goes into a fund for a 2nd winner in the
Grand Prize Game explained below.
1st and 2nd games are for a straight line- any direction even diagonal.
When there is a Bingo- I tell everyone to hold their cards while I check
the
winner's game pc with my "Master". If they are a winner they get to
choose from the 2 prizes for that catagory. The 2 prizes are usually DSP
in the price range of $10-$14.
Then we keep playing on those same cards until there is a 2nd winner-
and after I check their card-and they are a winner-they get to the 2nd
DSP.
We then clear our cards and play games 3 and 4 which are an "X".
The 2 Prizes are usually a Stamp Set with a matching punch value around
$32 each set-
Same process with winners-checking their cards-selecting prizes.
We then take a break and have 2 make and takes using suppiles from the
catalog.
Then we get ready for the Grand Prize-I ask again for any trades or
purchase of additional cards.
The Grand Prize is usually around $50 depending on the guests attending-
Stamp set, DSP, matching cardstock with ribbon.
The 1st winner gets their choice if they would like the Grand Prize
supplies OR the $ amount from the sales of the "extra' bingo cards.
The 2nd winner gets what the 1st winner didn't select.
The main reason I put an assortment of retired but new items is anyone
who hasn't won anything can now choose something from the table.
Everyone WINS something! It is a WIN-WIN since I am helping to clear out
my stash!
During the event- each person can win only twice but can continue to
play for fun.
Seeing the prizes plus the make and takes gets your guests seeing the
cool stuff and they place their orders using their $5.00 coupon!
If you have any questions-please let me know.
I hope this inforamtion is helpful and you enjoy reaching your goals
with this added event to your classes!
