How washable are our stamp pads?

Sheri Thompson
My daughters school is asking for washable stamp pad donations. Hmm. I have extra stamp pads!

I think they stamp them on the kids hands, so they do need to wash off.

So, how washable are our stamp pads?

Does it depend on the color? I would only send non-neutrals family colors.

In my experience -- dye ink pads will always stain skin -- and what I always used were pigment ink pads. We used to sell pigment ink as Craft Ink -- it's still what Colorbox sells as pigment ink. It's the best for hand print stamping if you want all trace of the ink to wash away. Our dye ink will wash off eventually -- but not always all of it immediately.

If little hands are sprayed with Stampin' Mist first, it helps. Also depends a lot on what the color is. Basic Black doesn't wash off as easily as Pretty in Pink!
