Filing for taxes question

Renee Thompson
I have only been selling SU for 4 months and am going to have my taxes done tomorrow. A friend that works for the IRS told me that I will have to show what I made and what I spent on business expenses.

I'm at a total loss and I know that somewhere on this site I've seen tax information.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Most of you are probably thinking that I should ask the accountant who is doing my taxes but it's a free service offered through my library so I don't know who will be doing my taxes and I was hoping to be able to file tomorrow without needing additional information.

I need to learn somewhere what I need to do from here on out for next year. Maybe there's something on the SU demo site but I can't seem to locate that either.

Thanks in advance.

Start on SUDSOL here:

http://www.sudsol.org/members/index.php?action=article&id=700&relid=106  Gives you a good idea on what information you need to gather for your tax person.

And http://www.sudsol.org/members/index.php?action=article&id=4059&relid=106

And http://www.sudsol.org/members/index.php?action=article&id=3036&relid=106

Some of these form to track expenses may also be helpful in knowing what types of things are expenses:

http://www.sudsol.org/members/index.php?action=article&id=451&relid=106

Beware that the person doing taxes may have NO familiarization with doing business taxes.  Most of these freebie tax places just have the training to do the basic tax returns and are not full CPA's.  When I first started doing SU!, I took my stuff to H&R block and the person there was not familiar with Direct Sellers and had to do some research before she could really help me.
