COVID19 question & Sale-A-Bration

Cindy McCool

I have a demo party scheduled for 3/26 and thus far I have 15 people signed up. As we all know Sale-a-bration ends 3/31/2020 so I’ll have to hustle to get my order in time to make the deadline.

However, as of today my county is limiting gatherings under 50 and stating that if they do proceed organizers should sanitize before and after and practice social distancing of 6 feet. Sanitization we can do, but I don’t know how we’ll do the social distancing but we’ll probably figure it out.

So, does anyone know what SU plans to do with Sale-a-bration? Hold fast to the 3/31 deadline, extend, what?  Naturally, I’m going to call them in the AM but was wondering if any of you are going through this worry right now and what, if any, solutions you have come up with?

Thanks and I’ll report back what I find out from SU tomorrow. Meanwhile, washing my hands and not going anywhere but making cards in preparation for a successful 3/26/2020 party.

I do think it would be helpful for SU to extend SAB.  It might be good for more of us to contact SU about this.  I’ll send DS an email myself.  Good idea, Cindy!

Hi Cindy:

Had our monthly club planned for today.  However, this past Thursday we changed it to an on-line party.  We plan to close the party on Tuesday we normally would.  It appears the hostess will have a successful party.

Our club members live in a 50 mile radius so most of them order on-line.  Some members are over 60 and some have health issues, asthma, lupus, and diabetes,  We will miss seeing each other but everyone was happy with the change.

Wishing you a great party.  Stay healthy.

Hi Cindy

I had to cancel an event that was scheduled for this Monday because people started dropping out. It was way less than 50 but many became uncomfortable about the news. Myself and one other person in that group are recent cancer survivors
so it has become really scary. I’ve just decided not to schedule any events for 8 weeks which is what the CDC is recommending. Hope people order so I can keep up my standing with SU.
Good luck to you

RE: SU!: COVID19 question & Sale-A-Bration

Cindy McCool
In reply to this post by Jeanne Moss

Well, now that San Francisco is “closed for business” my hostess did decide to cancel the party. We are going to be innovative and do it on line. My biggest challenge is for those invited to have their catalogues but I’m hopeful that part will go smoothly. Since they are all local to me I might have to run around a little to deliver duplicates and that’s OK.

I called Demo support this AM to ask if any thought in extending SAB had been given and they said no. I told them that frankly I was a little disappointed in SU for not sending an up date direct to all demonstrators and they said “we don’t do that”. Well,  yes we get emails direct all the time from them! I know that many of you have received emails from other venders that you deal with because I’ve received them as well. These are venders that I may not have used in  years but they are updating me, their customer, on what they are doing, how they are treating their employees and asking “what can we do for you?” It’s really disappointing that SU isn’t or hasn’t done this. It’s a business that employees a lot of people and I’d like to know what they have done for their safety and know that they care for them and for us.

Anyway, that’s my update on what I learned about calling SU to extend SAB. I did find out that they have cancelled live On-Stage and are “pivoting” to put on something electronic. I found this on their website.

Good luck, and stay safe!

Re: SU!: COVID19 question & Sale-A-Bration

Maria Pobre

I think we need to go to the Sandbox and let them know how important it is for them to email us directly during times like this. We don’t get notifications when there are updates, but we do get notifications for new emails.

While there, suggest they put a hold on requiring the minimum quarterly sales until the pandemic is over.

Happy Stampin’~

RE: SU!: COVID19 question & Sale-A-Bration

donnab07

Excellent idea!  I have some team members who were counting on a large class, one at their home, one at a local library, to meet this month’s minimum sales.  The library cancelled all events, and people have cancelled for the home party.  I called SU! yesterday, and got the usual litany of what happens if someone does not meet the quarterly minimum.  I asked the demo support person to pass on my concerns about the effects the coronavirus is having on our business to the higher ups at the company; she said she would.  She also made the comment that they are working on ways to keep the company open, whatever that means.

I do think it would be helpful for SU to extend SAB.  It might be good for more of us to contact SU about this.  I’ll send DS an email myself.  Good idea, Cindy!

RE: SU!: COVID19 question & Sale-A-Bration

Cindy McCool

I put in my ideas into the Sandbox. I noted that Disneyland will be extending their passes and tickets for the amount of time that we are under these circumstances. Surely SU can do the same.

FUI, I’ve had communication from Disney that they have closed their retail outlets but will be paying their employees. How is SU handling their employees? I’ve been telecommuting for years with my employer but cannot get onto their site now because all of the employees Nationwide are all trying to get onto the remote site. What my employer has learned is that they are not prepared so I’m sure massive changes will occur once we get past this crisis.

Stay strong!

Fellow demonstrators, please contact SU! to express your concerns. I’m sure my ladies (and I) are not alone with trying to keep our demonstratorship going.
