15 Minute Business Builder Task

Taxes - Schedule C or Schedule C-EZ

Yikes, it's that time of the year - tax time is knocking on your door.

Being a SU! demonstrator means some extra forms at tax time. But which form? Did you know that you can probably file a simplified version of Schedule C (Profit and Loss for Business) called the Schedule C-EZ?

Take 15 minutes today to learn more about business taxes and see if you qualify to file a simplified version of Schedule C and make your life a bit easier!

Who can use the Schedule C-EZ? If you have a profit from your business and…

    • your expenses are not greater than $5,000,
    • you have no employees,
    • you have no inventory, and
    • you are not using depreciation or deducting the cost of your home you can use Schedule C-EZ.

Where can I get it? https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040sce.pdf What is in it?

    • An instruction page and a one-page form with three short parts - General Information, Figure Your Net Profit, and Information on Your Vehicle
    • A simple worksheet for figuring the amount of deductible expenses
