Bags Not Being Shipped With Orders

I will be calling demo support on Monday but I am curious if this situation is happening to anyone else.  I held a workshop two weeks ago and SU did not include the white StampinUP bags with the order.  The hostess had to round up 15 of her own bags from her own stash at home.  Had I known I would have given her some of the ones I have here at my house.  I chalked it up to an oversight.  

Last week I had another workshop and I found out today that SU once again did not include the SU bags with the order shipment.  This hostess had to round up 12 bags from around her house!  

Is this happening to any of you?  Did I miss some message that SU is not providing bags anymore?  Once I can understand, but twice in a row with different orders and dates?  Just weird!

It happened to me as well. My hostess didn't get bags with her $700+ order
and scrounged, finding/using grocery bags. Had I known, I would have been
happy to get rid of some of my new, unused SU bags, but she didn't let me
know until she was done, bagged and delivered.

Perhaps SU has a new batch of order fillers and they weren't trained to put
the bags in?

Perhaps SU is trying to cut costs?

Perhaps the bags went the way of the Blendabilities?

Hard to know. When you find out, please let all of us here at SUDSOL know
too.

Yes Diane.  My last three workshop orders haven't had bags.  Interestingly enough I checked on s back order and there was a note that the logo bags had been cancelled!!!  Weird

Yes, it has happened to me too, and a lot of others.  I believe it is part of the backlog of items in the shipping containers stuck at the west coast ports.  Once the backlog is cleared up, we’ll be able to order & receive everything  like we used to do!

That is so weird! I didn't even think to look at the back order report! I had another workshop today, I will e-mail the hostess and let her know she won't have bags either so I'll have to get some of mine to her. I have about 40 but once I have given all those out I will be out too.

I had this happen, too.  Called SU and was told it was because of the dock strike.

I've requested for a while that we have the option to select whether bags
should be sent or not (remember when there was a checkbox for Technique
brochures?)   For my stamp club, I gave them all the SU! reusable bags from
convention we could purchase.  I put their names on the bags using the Decor
Elements.  So I really didn't need bags for those orders.  I had HUNDREDS of
bags accumulated.  I really felt this would be a cost savings for SU! to not
send bags when they're not needed (and would make their supply go further!)

What has happened is that SU's shipment of bags are being detained due to the strike which has not been settled as of yet.  I talked to them at DS on another matter and asked about the bags.  Until they get a supply in, there will be no bags.

I received an order on Friday with bags.  I don't receive bags with a demo
order.just class or workshop orders.

I'm surprised there wasn't a notice posted on the SU website about this.  Of
course, I always have the orders shipped to me, and I have lots of SU bags
from previous orders if I don't receive any.

There was a notice on the SU site.  It appears on the list of items that
are currently unavailable under the Back Order tab.

Guess I missed that…I always check the BO list when placing orders and I didn’t notice the bags being listed.  They aren’t listed now so they must have received them.

Coleen...I've been asking for the same thing from Stampin' Up!  (Turn on/off
if we need bags.)  I use the recycled bags for my Clubs, too!

Same here, plus I was asking for paper bags as opposed to the plastic ones.

I also use the recycle bags from convention for all of my club members. I have extra plastic bags if anyone needs them, please email me directly.

I can't find the notice about the bags that was with the unavailable/back
order items.  I did also search on Stampin' Connection and couldn't find
the older discussion (earlier in the week) about the bags.  There's a new
one but it does not contain the notice.  I'm guessing that since the logo
sacks no longer appear on the unavailable list that bags will begin to ship
again with orders.

Hi Everyone,

I phoned DS on Friday about some other matters, and then asked about the bag issue as well, since I noticed that the bags had been "cancelled" on my huge order. My gal said that SU was not providing them anymore, with no reason why. She did not mention that it was due to the dock worker's strike, and that when they were back in stock, they would be made available once again. Luckily, like many of you, I had "extras" I had accumulated from over the years, but they will soon run out....and then I guess I will resort to grocery bags!

I wish that, a) Stampin' Up! would inform us of this kind of news uniformly so we don't have to go 'wondering' on this kind of forum, and b) that all of their DS people had the same information to feed back to us, because they don't.

We want to portray the company in a good light and getting information straight from the horse's mouth is the best way to avoid misrepresentation.

You know I had an order arrive a week ago friday  and no bags, and thought well thats odd. Was just my club ladies, but still. If it was a workshop at someone else's home and you had the order directly delivered to them they may/not know that we send bags out with every order. I too happend to have a few extras stashed around here.
